Eating healthy is not easy. This is especially true today, when all the supermarkets are full of ready-made, ready-to-eat kinds of food. It is no wonder why many people choose such products on a daily basis: these ultra-processed meals are produced to taste good, are relatively inexpensive, and do not require lots of time input.
But what do they do to our health? There are many studies investigating possible effects on a molecular scale. But molecular scale is… well, not visible to our eyes. So is there a way to observe what really happens if you eat ultra-processed food too often?
That was the idea behind the experiment performed by a UK doctor Chris van Tulleken, who chose to embark on an ultra-processed food diet for 30 days. As you can guess, the results are quite grim. Watch this story in the video below:
